Here are some tips to make it happen

Have you ever thought about spending the winter in a warm tropical location? Here in Bulgaria the winter months are cold from December to March. We decided to spend three months in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Renting Long Term is a fraction of the cost of a nightly hotel room!
Here are few key steps to make your dream become reality.
1. Check the country’s VISA requirements. Some countries allow a short term stay of 30,60 90 and even up to 180 days.
a. Thailand allows 30 days. In order to stay longer you need to visit the Thailand Embassy and apply for an extended VISA of 60 days. After the 60 days is expired then we went to the local office in Koh Samui to get a 30 day extension.
2. Once you know where you plan to go and the VISA requirements works for you, start looking for the Villa.
a. The best deals may be through a local property management company located at the destination you want to visit. Also, look at long-term rentals in a google search to find a good local property management company.
3. Contact the local property management firm and negotiate the best price possible. You can get a better price if you plan to stay 2-3 months.
4. Once you arrive decide how you will get around. Rent a car or motor bikes is a good option. Most places have food delivery and grocery delivery services.

Benefits of renting a Villa long-term.
Actually, living in an apartment or home definitely gives you an opportunity to feel like living as a local. Shopping at the local grocery stores, getting your hair cut, talking to neighbors, and walking in the neighborhood is so much different than staying in a hotel.
With an extended stay you can spend more time exploring local destinations taking side trips and using the Villa as a home base.
